Bahrain is a Middle Eastern archipelago which can be found in the Persian Gulf between Saudi Arabia and Qatar. It is popular with Western tourists because while it feels like a traditionally Arabic country, it lacks the strict rules of the surrounding countries which many Westerners find oppressive and intimidating.
It is popular with shoppers wanting to pick up designer pieces, and many parts of Bahrain are incredibly luxurious. Many of the grander hotels are home to manmade beaches for anyone who misses the sea, as much of the land around the coast has been reclaimed, eradicating most of the natural coastline. Bahrain is also popular with racing fans on account of the fact it hosts the Bahrain Grand Prix every April.
