About Barbados
Barbados is a small Caribbean island close to Venezuela, and has strong ties to the British Colony. As with most of the Caribbean islands, visitors can expect to find gorgeous stretches of white sandy beaches and glistening turquoise waters lined with palm trees, so this is the ideal destination for anyone looking for a trip filled with guaranteed sun, sea and sand.
However, perhaps more striking is the overwhelming friendly nature of the locals who will generally go out of their way to welcome visitors to the island. There are lots of things to see and do in Barbados, including Harrison’s Cave with its waterfalls, stalagmites and stalactites and a botanical garden inside the island. Bajan food is famously robust and flavoursome, and the rum is definitely worth a taste.
