Belarus is a country in Eastern Europe which borders Russia, Ukraine, Latvia, Lithuania and Poland, and has a population of over 10 million. While it is not yet an especially popular destination for tourists, this could change in the near future with the popularity of Eastern Europe in general with Western tourists.
Be aware that the visa rules are often very complex, so make sure you know exactly what you need to do about a visa in advance. Belarus is filled with interesting historical monuments, memorials and museums, and night-time tours of Minsk are particularly recommended when the city is at its most beautiful. Belarus is a relatively safe country, and you shouldn’t find that you run into any major difficulty here.
