About Costa Rica
Costa Rica us a country found in Central America between Nicaragua and Panama, with coasts facing out onto the Pacific Ocean and the Caribbean Sea. It is best known for its astonishing wildlife and national parks, and its beaches are also a strong pull for tourists. The ecotourism industry is particularly strong in Costa Rica, with almost half of tourists engaging with environmentally friendly or ecologically orientated activities, such as hiking or bird watching, during their visit.
The tropical climate means that the country is home to many unusual and rare creatures and plants, though there are also things to do outside of purely nature-focused activities, particularly in San José, the capital, with its museums and monuments of cultural interest. Canopy tours are often cited as a must-do for Costa Rica, involving travelling through the treetops of the country using zipwires.
