About Croatia
Croatia is a popular tourist destination in Eastern Europe which borders five different countries in the area, and has seen its popularity with visitors, especially from Western Europe, increase rapidly in recent years with the creation of more beach resorts in Eastern Europe in general. Croatia is set across more than 1,200 islands, meaning much of the travel around Croatia takes place by boat.
Zagreb is the capital and the largest city in Croatia, with other popular destinations being the historic cities of Dubrovnik, Split and Pula, most of which have lots of ancient Roman ruins to explore. Hvar is generally considered to be one of the most beautiful Croatian islands on account of its stunning beaches, vineyards and forests, and it makes an idyllic setting for a relaxing trip and a must-see for anyone visiting Croatia.
