About Ecuador
Ecuador can be found on the northwestern Pacific coastline of South America, and gets its name from the fact it lies on the Equator. It borders Peru and Colombia, and is the home of world famous UNESCO World Heritage Site the Galapagos Islands, known for its wildlife and its turtle conservation projects. Quito is one of the world’s highest capitals, and as a result of this it experiences volatile weather conditions, so tourists should pack for all eventualities.
Ecuador is perfect for an adventure holiday destination, with small volcanoes which can be climbed, the Andes mountain range running through the centre of the country and the Amazon rainforest covering the entire eastern region of the country.
