About Cote D'Ivoire
The Cote d’Ivoire, which means ‘Ivory Coast’, is found on the west coast of Africa which has an Atlantic coastline on its southern side. The country comprises largely flat terrain, though there is a small mountainous region in the north, with a tropical and semiarid climate. The country has some beautiful sandy beaches which are one of the major attractions, as well as the three UNESCO World Heritage List national parks.
The official capital of the Cote d’Ivoire is Yamoussoukro, but the administrative capital and home to all the embassies is Abidjan on the south coast. The food is very good value for money, and you should take the time to sample as many of the local delicacies as possible, with fish and chicken dishes being among the most popular throughout the country.
